B2B

Sync Shopify B2B companies, locations, contacts, markets, and catalog pricing with Salesforce, and onboard companies from your Accounts.

On this page

Jota B2B adds Shopify B2B to Jota. Sync your companies into Salesforce, or start from your Salesforce Accounts and onboard them to Shopify.

Set up Jota B2B

  1. Make sure B2B is available on your Shopify store.
  2. Turn on Contacts to Multiple Accounts in Salesforce.
  3. Install Jota B2B after Jota Core. Jota B2B needs Core 1.40 or newer.
  4. Run Configure permissions again, so the Jota roles include B2B.
  5. Ask us to confirm that your Jota connection includes company access.

Sync from Shopify

Automatic sync keeps companies, locations, contacts, roles, and markets up to date. Use the Jota B2B Sync tab for your first import, and to schedule a daily reconciliation.

TabWhat it syncs
Companies + LocationsCompanies, locations, contacts, roles, and catalog assignments. Date filters apply to the company, not its locations.
MarketsAll Shopify markets and their related records
Catalog PricingPrices for every active Price Book linked to a Shopify catalog

Run Companies + Locations and Markets before your first Catalog Pricing sync, so that the catalog Price Books exist.

To schedule a sync, enter a Daily Reconciliation Hour from 0 to 23 in your org’s time, then select Schedule Daily. Scheduled runs sync all records and don’t send notifications. To change the hour, remove the existing job in Setup → Scheduled Jobs and schedule it again.

Removed markets are deactivated in Salesforce, not deleted. Catalog Price Books are never deleted.

Retry one catalog

Add the Sync Shopify Prices field to your Price Book layout, then use it to sync that Price Book’s catalog on its own. The Price Book needs a Shopify catalog ID.

If a pricing sync reports missing products, open the parent Product and select Sync w/ Shopify, then retry the Price Book.

Onboard a company

Use Sync Company w/ Shopify to create or update a Shopify company from an Account. Add it to your Account page layout first.

  1. Open the company Account. It must have no Parent Account.
  2. Select Sync Company w/ Shopify.
  3. Choose a Primary contact, and optionally a Secondary contact.
  4. Choose a Location role: Admin or Order Only.
  5. Select the locations to create or update. For a business with one location, select the company Account itself. For more locations, create child Accounts first, then select them.
  6. Select Sync Company w/ Shopify.

Jota runs the work in the background, in this order:

  1. Creates or updates the Shopify company.
  2. Creates or updates each customer.
  3. Adds each customer as a company contact.
  4. Sets the primary contact as the company’s main contact.
  5. Creates or updates each location, and applies any market rules.
  6. Assigns the role at each location.

You can start the same onboarding from Flow with the Onboard Shopify B2B Company action. The Sync Shopify B2B Location Roles action syncs role changes.

Bulk onboarding

Use the Jota B2B Onboarding tab to onboard many companies at once.

  1. Select Contacts. Enter a Contact SOQL query, such as SELECT Id FROM Contact WHERE Account.Type = 'Customer', with your own criteria. Each preview covers up to 10,000 Contacts. You can save queries to reuse later.
  2. Map Accounts. Choose a Company grouping, Locations, and Contact role, then select Preview selection.
  3. Review and onboard. Check the results, then select the Onboard button.
OptionChoices
Company groupingGroup by Contact Account or One company per Contact
LocationsUse company Account as location, Reuse one child; create if missing, Existing child only, or One location per Contact
Contact roleOrdering only or Admin

Each selected Contact gets the chosen role at every location in its company group. New locations use the Contact’s mailing address, then the Account’s shipping or billing address. Missing addresses are reported, but they don’t stop onboarding.

Market rules

Use the Jota Market Rules tab to add company locations to Shopify markets based on their Account fields.

  1. Select Enable market rules.
  2. Select Add rule, then set the conditions, Shopify market, and optional default Price Book. The first matching rule wins.
  3. Under No matching rule, choose a Fallback action: Keep current assignment or Assign fallback.
  4. To re-check Accounts when their fields change, select Reevaluate when criteria fields change.
  5. Select Save.

To test your rules, choose a Location Account under Test Account, then select Preview. Nothing changes until you select Apply to this Account.

The default Price Book applies to new orders. Other matching Shopify markets can still contribute catalogs.

Welcome emails

Onboarding doesn’t send invitations or welcome emails on its own. See B2B welcome emails to set them up.
